Vivocity, Sentosa, Clarke Quay Speed Trip + THE CONNOISSEUR CONCERTO

Outing with my dear college buddy Sheauwen!
Time to chillax. Her exams are over, and mine still long time till over haha
anyways, good reasons to have a fun day :)
well we were thinking of the places that we haven't visited and decided to go Vivocity!
One thing I really like about Singapore, super awesome transport system! You can basically go anywhere u want without worrying of getting lost. So we took the MRT to Harbourfront station.

Basically, VivoCity is like this super huge mall situated one stretch of ocean away from Sentosa Island. The building exterior is quite interesting, white exterior with lots of holes, I'm thinking that coral reef was the inspiration behind the architecture? The mall inside has all the luxury brands, very posh cafes and restaurants. Well i wasn't there to shop, so didn't really observe much. Instead we went to the promenade and also the rooftop SkyPark, just to enjoy the view and have some long awaited chit-chatting session.

Yeap, the SkyPark is mostly covered by this large pool? lol, I suppose it's called a water feature haha...
feel like jumping into the water coz the sun was so freaking blazing hot.
Anyway check out the wave patterns of the water, pretty right? wish I brought a better camera to capture them.

some sculpture that spins around when the wind blows, like a gymnast.

Beautiful view of Sentosa...

At the Promenade
Basically just enjoy the cool breeze and look across the sea
Great place to hang out or just calm your thoughts hehe

Then as we were sitting at the Promenade, looking across, there the Island with the Far far way castle, pretty hotels and then...
"Eyh Sentosa is just opposite lerr.... Let's Go!"
and again, thanks to awesome SG transportation, we can go to Sentosa directly from Vivocity via Sentosa Express Monorail. Anyway, Admission is SGD4, can be paid via EZlink.

Waterfront Station

how could we miss the Universal Globe?
OMG I wanna go USS so badly TT.TT feel like climbing over the fence haha

too much chocolate?

the pretty Candy Trees :D

haizzz as usual, EPIC de sheauwen haha

Then saw this Malaysian Food Street OMG
homesick sia

omg omg omg the defining moment when you see the words Petaling Jaya in Singapore haha
btw their roti bakar is nothing close to PJ's, like seriously...

We ordered Kaya Butter Toast(SGD1.50) and Cendol(SGD2.80)!
Cendol was actually quite okay, very strong gula melaka aroma n taste, just that they could have put more toppings hehe...

Btw, going into that place really makes you miss home
The nostalgic buildings with all the simple signboard.

Moving ON, took the monorail to Beach Station
revisited the Siloso beach which I'd been to during FOC...
It was around 6 something in the evening, yup Sunset Goodness!!
btw I love the weather weih! Is like very bright, but there's cool breeze....
Though it messes up my hair, but I really enjoyed it.

Beautiful blend of Yellow and Blue

Pretty sunset glow :D

we even wrote a message for Jiachee's Bday!

So sunset is beautiful, but short :(
Darkness takes over, time to look for a bright and happening spot
Clarke Quay
Didn't take much photos tho, only food pics hehe....
So this time, we went to a restaurant named
THE CONNOISSEUR CONCERTO
Western, with quite a wide range of main courses, features some unique coffee and desserts.
It's one of the restaurants along the promenade.

Cheesy Dinner indeed haha

Penne Mamma Mia -- SGD 17.00
Awesome, like seriously, awesome!
Baked cheese all over
I thought it's gonna be super heavy, since we ordered cheesy wedges as well. But this one has a very clean taste, the aroma of cheese is just awesome. There's a soft hint of the cheese's saltiness and milky taste. Love the texture, the chicken pieces are also well marinated, with yummy mushrooms. Penne really goes well with them.Thumbs Up!

Wedges with Cheese Dip -- SGD9.00
The cheese dip is not too rich, just a faint cheese taste and sweetness. Wedges are crunchy and mushy. Not bad.

Honey Citrus Fizz -- SGD6.00
One of the coolest drink I've ever had. Love the refreshing citrus aroma and very slight sourness that tinges your tongue abit. Then there comes the honey sweetness. It's very smooth. Like!

Apple Juice -- SGD4.20
Nothing special, just apple flavored water :D

Anyways, the prices above are not exact. Can't remember all of them, but the total bill amounted to SGD44. Not cheap I know, but it's the once-in-awhile-splurge. :D
but i'm very satisfied with the pasta, really thumbs up! Hope I'll save enough money to come back again and hopefully try their interesting range of coffee and beautiful desserts!!

Some photos of the bustling Clarke Quay on a Friday Night!!

Colorful buildings, colorful people, colorful lifestyle.

Many thanks to sheauwen who walked around with me that day, sorry for making the sudden decision to visit sentosa. But I guess it's quite worth it right?? :D
Will find time to explore Singapore further...

Artisan Coffee Bar @ Bangsar Village

Time to introduce some chilling treats after all those heavy dining posts haha...
Artisan Coffee Bar @ Bangsar Village 2
My friend told me that their HQ at TTDI makes really good coffee. She's a coffee person larrr, so I know whatever she recommends must be nice! So when I knew that there's a branch at BV, I was really excited to try it out!

It's a bar in the middle of a shopping center. I would say the place does reflect the coffee bar's name, looks like a hub for artists to think and get inspiration or something haha.... with those very bright yet nostalgic lights...wooden chairs and tables...

Latte Art, So pretty right?

I ordered a Cafe Mocha -- RM12
Love the super fragrant cocoa taste...
it's also very smooth with sweetness of milk and rich aroma of coffee
Nice arrr!!!

Fiona and Hayden's Latte -- RM11
from what I heard, it's very smooth, they even had a second cup!

The Last Polka IceCream in Deep Dark Chocolate -- RM9.20
courtesy of Hayden :)
super chocolaty taste, but the texture is more towards icy popsicle, not that creamy. Not to sweet, okay lor hehe
With the highschool friend, enjoying the coffee, ambience and chit-chatting.

Easy to Happy

well I guess I'm starting to get use to the life over here...
At first it was kind of tough coz i realize there's a lot more little things that needs to be put in effort
Tiring at the start, but now I really don't feel troubled anymore, in fact I'm learning to appreciate things right now hehe...

Of course, I'm extremely grateful to have a bunch of friends who are willing to be always encouraging me and accompanying me. Even talking nonsense seems to be the best thing in life when u r with these people. :D Hope we'll continue to count on each other :D

So this post is just a short update
first 2 weeks of the semester, well nothing much about classes
instead there were several CCA events to attend. The welcome teas, interviews and audition.
I joined choir and passed the audition!! Yay! Like a dream come true haha, for some reason, my previous schools all don't have choir team, so yea, finally have the oppurtunity to be part of it. Well I know it's not gonna be easy, but YOLO hehe

I interviewed for Malaysian Student's Association's Main Comm as well, and was given the task of Hall Coordinator LOL Hope I'll be able to bring lots of fun to people! and myself as well :D

Anyways here's some photos from the past two weeks :D

Thursday, went out with my coursemate and also group of exchange students! Awesome experience I must say, these people are so friendly! They come from German, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Romania etc etc It was my first time meeting up with so many angmo's from different countries at the same time! Really enjoyed sharing and exchanging experiences and opinions with them. Learned so much about foreign culture in such a short time. Though I'm not Singaporean, but it was still kind of fun to introduce them to local food like Satay, Yao Zha Guai, Cai Tao Kuey, Fried Oyster, Taufufa and etc. Hope to meet up with them again soon!

Hehe had so much good food that day
still I miss MY food haha

After the dinner, Holland Village!
yes very familiar right!! The moment I see this windmill, it brings back my childhood memories of watching 荷兰村 (Singapore TV Series)

But the TV series didn't tell me that Holland Village is such a happening area! Pubs and bistros along the street, with lots of foreigners and also working class. The atmosphere was really nice! It's like a place to relax after a hectic day.

Friday, met up with my dear college buddy Sheauwen!!!!
Finally had time to meet up with her and explore the island hehe...
I'll have a detail post about our day soon.
Basically, we went to Vivocity, Sentosa Island and also ClarkQuay

freaking love this photo, it was sunset, with the cooling breeze and also the bestie.

haha walked around Sentosa Island and passed by the Universal Globe!
I'm so gonna go in there again some day!
Saturday Night, went to JEM with my dear friends LiMin and Pohwei
had an awesome dinner and just chillax
shopped at the supermarket as well hehe...
These two sweet girls are the closest friends I have now
Thanks for always accompanying me whenever I'm alone
Hope there will be more fun moments coming up!

pretty fountain at JEM

and finally, OG supper!!
before that was a surprise event for our OG member Ruenn Sheng's Bday
we were suppose to rush into his room at 12am, but the birthday boy spoiled our plan by randomly appearing infront of us out of nowhere before we execute our plan. anyways, it was so funny haha...
then went supper with these people despite the late hour
really enjoyed chatting with this bunch of friends and seniors, so much laughter and joy.
Look forward to our coming outings :D

So that's about it
