Malacca : Good World Restaurant

Visited malacca last Saturday to celebrate my cousin's daughter's full moon.
we had a small family reunion dinner
and before that, Daddy took us to Good World Restaurant @ Taman Melaka Raya
I haven't been to this restaurant for more than 3 years, but the food is still delicious as before!

Braised Pork dish which I dunno it's name. It's something similar to 东坡肉
It might look very oily, but no, it's not. The meat was tender, if you eat with the fat/skin layer on top, the texture is really good, soft and chewy.

Stir Fry Pea Shoots 豆苗
Crunchy vege, nice nice

Mutton Soup 羊肉汤
I didn't like the soup to be honest, super strong herbal taste
but I like the mutton itself, it was soft and juicy and has a mild scent of herbs.

Oyster Omelette 铁板蚝
it's actually 蚝煎
Delicious! It still taste the same as before...
香到......
love the strong egg scent and the juicy oysters

We ordered a steamed fish as well which I didn't take photos coz i was too bust eating
It was yummy too
Anyways, according to daddy, the bill sums up to around RM130
The fish was expensive of course...
So if you don't order the fish, the dishes above are actually quite reasonably priced.

After lunch, went shopping @ Makhota Parade
bought a bag for RM35 only weeeee...
wanted to go Nadeje to redeem a free cake (10 stamps for 1 cake)
but gosh, totally underestimated them and probably forgot that it was a Saturday
The queue was so freaking long
I was in a hurry, if not I would've waited...

Here's a photo from reunion dinner,
my aunt took us to Taipan Live Seafood Restaurant @ Taman Merdeka
There were around 8 dishes in total,
including cold plate, mee-suah (面线), chicken, dessert.
I must say it's quite delicious...
especially the Steamed Prawn and Steam Fish (顺壳)
yea it's a SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, so yeap, the seafood were really great!
I didn't take any photos since I cant be like "wait wait wait!!!! letme take photo 1st!" while everyone is staring at the food already...

anyways, took one, coz this is like the only dish which is served individually
Red Wine Pork Ribs 红酒排骨
i think they ran out of ribs coz mine wasn't ribs...maybe somewhere near the ribs
anyways it was delicious, the sauce is awesome mannn!! sweet with a lil sour-ish, perfect with the pork
I was gonna lick the plate...

Anyways, the main occasion was to celebrate my niece's Full Moon!!
Her name is Jia Xuan 嘉轩
such a cute girl
babies are so syok
sleep all the time, then eat, then cry then sleep again hehe
was looking at how my cousin sister in-law took care of her...
she's such a caring and loving mother, despite all the crying from the baby
I guess my mom was like that too haha
that's why she's still complaining until this day...
don't ever start a fight with my mom, she'll start reciting all her memories and complaints since the day I was born...and finally she'll say "I raise you until u become begitu besar and now u wanna quarrel with me?!?!"
LOL
anyways, looking at my cousin in-law really did make me think parents are so great.

weee Baby so chubby...

so cute larrrr

The dress that I bought her...
hope she fast fast grow tall....
and wear this and also the headband that I bought

Hokkaido Cake from Berry's

I saw many people are talking about Hokkaido cake recently
I didn't really bother to know what is it and how it looks like
but the name Hokkaido still made the cake SOUND delicious lol
so went to Berry's with mom to buy some bread and realize they actually sell Hokkaido Cakes

at first sight, the cake does look cute
small and square and puffy...very kawaii neh

Hokkaido Cake
北海道蛋糕
Pretty Box from Berry's @SS2

Hokkaido Cakes in 3 Flavors
RM2.50 each
Top Left - Chocolate, Top-Right - Dragon Fruit
Bottom two are both Original flavor which is Red Bean.
Basically it's sort of like a fluffy chiffon cake with cream inside the cake
thought it was gonna be very heavy...but NO

Totally Love it!
The texture of  both the cake and the cream is just awesome.
The cake is like fluffy and soft, not too sweet, while the cream has a light and smooth texture
put both together, it was like....super delicious
I like how the cream and cake just glides on your tongue without having a strong heavy taste.
really awesome...
Personally I like the chocolate and original flavor
The chocolate cream is delicious! the original one, as u can see, there's red beans in the cream, which gives a crunchy kind of feeling...

priced at RM2.50, it's definitely awesome deal!
I just checked out other blog posts about other Hokkaido cakes, and most of them are slightly more expensive...
RT's pastry's priced at RM16.80 for 6 pcs
Their one might be delicious, but to me, this one is definitely worth it

Berry's sell all kinds of tasty bread and pastry at a very reasonable price
go there at night and you'll realize there's not much bread left on the shelf
anyways, Try their Egg Tarts and Mexican Bun!! Super delicious and tasty!

Yumcha at Duduk Cafe @ e@Curve

Met up with a couple of friends last week
yeap, couple friends LOL
sort of like a catch-up session...
It was great to meet up with them after a month, to update each other about our lives
talk about stuffs and just laugh
Anyways I was scratching my head thinking of where to yumcha, walked around and finally went to e@Curve's Duduk Cafe

Basically the place is quite simple and nice, really a place for u to "duduk n relak"
The menu is also very simple, offers local drinks like Tea, Coffee, Milo, Ice Lemon Tea, Ribena and Fruit Juices. For food, there's Nasi Lemak, Noodles (like laksa), Western snacks and desserts...
The price, consider as quite cheap if u compare it with other available local/fusion cafe's in The Curve area..

weee My Long time no drink
Ribena Longan - RM3.50
well, nothing can go wrong with this combination isn't it??
I think they are quite generous with the longan
yes look clearly, there's more longan than ice!
Like Like...

Cheesy Wedges - RM9.00
for me n sheauwen, cheesy wedges is kinda like "our food", coz for almost everytime that I had KFC's cheesy wedges, we will be having it together @ KL sentral LOL
so yea cheesy wedges is a part of our college memory
anyways, slightly different from KFC cheesy wedges, there's no mayonnaise, but you can ask for it, which is what sheauwen did LOL
the taste, erm the wedges it self has a strong flavor of spices, probably black pepper
which I like...
and it's quite crunchy
but as u can see, the size of one strip is so much "skinnier" than KFC's lol
anyways, it still taste good.

I actually like the place, even though it's not a proper shop lot
but the place was nicely decorated, u can choose to sit on high stools or normal stools, or a backrest chair

the photo did no justice to the actual place
the place was brightly lit and I remember clearly there was a cute lil pot of blue flower on each table
and like what i've mention, there's round tables and long tables as well
so no fret if u have a large company

anyways the e@Curve branch is like a Mini version of Duduk Cafe
coz there's a main branch at Damansara Jaya,
which offers a wider range of food and drinks
my friend said that the Nasi Lemak is good

Never felt so proud before

I'm sure the buzz now is all about Lee Chong Wei's Awesome Performance in the Olympic Finals
this is like the first time where people really didn't care much about losing but instead appreciated and marveled on his wonderful and outstanding performance...
Yesterday was a day full of emotions and thoughts and I really want to write my thoughts down, to remember this terrific day...

Yesterday, my whole family was excited and we even decided to have dinner earlier so that we can catch the match at 8pm...I would just be honest, at first, I thought that his chance of winning was really thin and the fact that he hurt is leg really didn't help at all. I was thinking that I shall support him but not expect him to win coz that might put too much stress on him...Yea, i kept saying "It's okay, dun lose to badly then can edi..."
As the game goes, every second was full of fascination...his moves, his expression and of course his spirit was so high...I can feel it, really! It moved all of us, our whole family was shouting, yes shouting (sorry neighbours) almost heart attack i tell you. We became very hopeful and at the same time, enjoyed the awesome performance between two world players...it was better than any kind of show/movie, coz it's real. Trust me we were super funny, we were like talking to him haha, "Ooi play properly lerrr!!", "Don't so gan jeong!", "Yes Yes You can do it wan!!!" "快点杀球!杀到够够力!" "Walao, 很型!" As if he could hear us LOL

When he won the first game, all of cheered so loud and of course we started to hope for the gold medal.
Then the second match wasn't that good, I could feel all of us sink.... Like really sad for him, then we continued to "TALK" to him...."Nvm, still got one more game, confirm can win wan!"

Then the 3rd game was the best, they were really neck and neck, every rally was super "gan jiong" , u never know who's going to take the lead, at the same time, all the awesome skills were being showcase, speed, precision and techniques, you can really see their efforts and you'll start thinking about how much blood sweat and tears were behind all these...
I really respect both players!

anyways at the end 19-21
I was sad, I'm serious
not because there's no ice cream and holiday
Just genuinely feel sad for him
he did an awesome job, but still it was not enough for him to achieve what he want
really felt like crying with him...
But a few moments later I felt a happiness in my heart
I was so proud of him
every frames from the match started replaying in my head and I cant help but to feel that he really did win
no doubt it was a breakthrough performance
If I could talk to him face to face, I would let him know he achieved so so much from that game and we all see it and appreciate it!

This is the moment where I felt like crying...
he look so down
I think none of us can understand his disappointment

but seriously, you're the best la...
good thing that there's internet now...
I'll show my kids the video of this match and tell them how awesome you are
and will make sure they go learn badminton!!

Thanks for bringing us together and made our country stand out on the global stage!

THIS SONG IS FOR YOU!! YOU'RE THE BEST!

Greenlicious @ Boulevard 10

Many people are very into organic/vegetarian food these days,
but not many realize organic food doesn't necessarily stands for vegetarian food
Here's One Restaurant that serves REAL ORGANIC FOOD

I just checked out their Facebook page, the restaurant is run by young chefs and I'm pretty sure some of them are celebrities that I've seen on TV. Basically the serve organic food, not vegetarian, yes with both meat and veggie. After looking through their menu, I'm quite certain they serve chicken only. Organic chicken of course.

So, the drinks came first.

Matcha Milk Tea - RM7.90
Not the Green Milk Tea which is served in Chatime and other bubble tea shops..
Super strong greentea-bitter-ish taste at first sip, then the sweetness of the milk and also tea scent comes after. I actually liked it.

Mommy's
Wild Chrysanthemum Tea - 5.90
Has a naturally sweet taste, nothing like the ordinary chrysanthemum drinks...
as u can see, there's wolf berry also...which explains the extra sweetness :D

Nasi Lemak KL Tower - RM16.90
with sambal and curry and also the VERY GREENLICIOUS fried chicken!!
The fried chicken is good! Super crunchy but not oily at all, I'm serious.
It was amazing man, the meat is also tender and juicy. Love it!
The rice has a very fragrant smell as well. Like Like!
Sambal was delicious, wanted to ask for more...

yea now you understand y it's called KL Tower...

Mommy's
Roasted Chicken Rice - RM17.90
comes with Lotus Root soup
The chicken is definitely less oily and less salty....which actually means it's much more healthy
but if u think it's too plain, eat with the soy sauce, ginger and chili
really raise the flavor
the chicken was also well cooked, soft and yummy
rice, again, less oily but still fragrant
soup was good!

In conclusion, the food here really makes you feel healthy lol
but still gives you the delicious taste
The menu also has other unique dishes
really worth trying

The place is also pretty good....

btw, wanna thank Mommy's friend for giving us coupons to try out the dishes....
will definitely go there again...

Gohtong Jaya... Ze Yuan Restaurant + Yik Kee Durian Delights

Went to Gohtong Jaya with parents recently, so that mummy can take a break from cooking our dinner and also to enjoy the cool breeze and slightly-fresher air.
Really did love the cool environment, a good escape from the super super hot city

Dinner @ Ze Yuan Restaurant
memang wanted to try their food after watching a food TV Show and also read several good reviews from blogs..
Just as what the reviews said,
the food here is actually quite tasty and also at an affordable price.

Cantonese Style Kuey Teow (滑蛋河)- RM6.00
"锅气" 超重!
super nice!! Have a very nice aroma of egg and the kuey teow was well cooked.
Not too soft, not too dry...
The sotong was kinda hard though.

咸香金瓜 Pumpkin Slices with Salted Egg - RM15.00
I'm not a big fan of pumpkin but this dish made me fell in love with pumpkin now.
The pumpkin slices have a crunchy coat with slight taste of salted egg and chilies.
The pumpkin itself is abit crunchy and sweet!
Really Love it!

Tofu with Minced Chicken and Preserved Radish - RM12.00
The tofu is awesome!! Super soft, like taufufah...
The mince chicken is abit too salty, probably due to the preserved radish.
I would prefer just the tofu itself, that will be enough.

Stir Fry Chinese Spinach (清炒苋菜) - RM6.00

Salt and Pepper Octopus Tentacles - RM12.00
 Love it!
Love the crunchy-ness of both the outer coat and the octopus itself!! The mild pepper taste really bring out the taste of octopus

Ze Yuan Seafood Restaurant
No.33, Jalan Jati 1
69000 Gohtong Jaya
Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Went to Awana Resort for a short walk
love the cool air over there!

Dessert time @ Yik Kee Restaurant
The durian desserts!!

Durian Ice Cream - RM2
super creamy, the ice cream kind of creamy, not the durian kind
but has a strong durian taste but not too over...
Love it

I tried the Durian Bomb (RM1.80 each) oso,
but I "Da Pao" it, so before i took a photo I already ate it while I'm in the car LOL
it's quite nice!!
Love the crunchy layer...it's like the 芋角 crust..
the filling's texture is abit like real durian, but slightly smoother
super super rich taste of durian
you might think that there's real durian fruit inside
