Fish and Co. @ 1 Utama

It's actually not my first time visiting this restaurant
I had always been a big fan of their fish and chips!
Okay fine, I dun order the chips, I like to trade it for the Paella Rice, which taste awesome hehe...
anyways another good point is, the price is quite reasonable! You can have one fish and chip and order a drink for less than RM20 in this restaurant.
One of my fave restaurants :)

Fish & Co. @ 1 Utama
Price Range : RM15-20

Basically, this restaurant offers all kinds of seafood dishes. And they always serve it in a pan haha...Their specialty is definitely Fish and Chips with different variations, but they offer other seafood as well. I tried their seafood platter before, all the seafood are really fresh and well cooked, flavoring is awesome as they play around with garlic and butter.

Best Fish and Chips in Town
it's not a description, it's the name!
This is like super crispy!! And I love the how the crispy layer and soft fish texture mix together in your mouth. The sauce also adds a tinge of flavor which brings out the fish's sweetness and freshness. Very nice!

Singapore Fish and Chips
The Singapore twist in this is the Chili Crab sauce which pretty much taste like tomato pasta sauce to me. Well nothing special, but quite delicious as well due to the sweet and sour flavor.

Earl Grey Tea -- RM4.50
dunno why but I remember the price haha

小霸王 Xiao Bar Wang @ 1 Utama

Was looking thru those old photos and there's actually a lot of food stuff
But they were taken so long ago that I can't even remember the price and the name of those dishes
Nevertheless, I will never forget the taste of all the food I've tried before
So yea, I'll try to post all the restaurants that I think is quite good and would recommend to you guys
First Up :
Xiao Bar Wang Taiwanese Snacks @ 1 Utama

a very short post about this shop
basically the reason I like them very much is bcoz of their Mee Sua!
well I dunno whether it's ORI taiwanese taste larr, but the mee sua is really nice man!!
The thick and rich broth and also the crunchy meesua
and there's some meatballs as well...
Really Love It
Unlike the Oyster Meesua, this one is has a chicken-broth kind of taste and the meesua absorbs the sweetness of the soup. Really Like! Thumbs Up!

By the way, they have this set meal which cost around RM9 if i'm not wrong...
It includes a drink

The Yummy Meesua and also Rosella Drink

Another dish that we tried, the famous taiwanese Braised Pork Rice 鲁肉饭
and also Taiwanese Black Sugar Milk Tea 黑糖奶茶!
The rice is actually not bad as well! The meat texture is quite chewy and the rich taste goes well with plain rice! I love their milk tea btw :D

If I'm not wrong, this restaurant originated from Singapore and it's actually founded by several MediaCorp artiste.

Anyways, if you're craving for something with rich flavors and also not too expensive, Go to Xiao Bar Wang! They have other taiwanese snacks as well, like tea egg and the crispy chicken chop.

Sungai Long Food Special

haizzz, it's been almost 2 months since I officially left UTAR
was looking through some photos and some of them are food pics hehe
Time to do a Sg Long Special! haha
But to be quite honest I really dun have much photos, coz usually I dun really take photos when I eat while I was in Sg Long haha
anyways, I'll try to list out all the places that we students usually go eat, and hopefully attach photos :D

I shall split them according to price range and give short reviews about their food...
and I'll attach the address and foursquare link
The underline ones are places that I really really recommend.

Category One : Economical (RM6 and below)
1. 满记雜饭 -- Mix Rice
They have the best mix rice! Many choices, and most of them are delicious. My favorite combination is always Sambal Kangkung, Sweet and Sour Lala, Steam Egg and Butter Chicken. I'm surprised that it's not on Foursquare lol...
Ratings : 7.5/10 (they dun taste superb, but for mixed rice, the taste is really awesome liao!)
Address : Along Jalan SL1/3, Opposite Kedai Makanan Sky 天下

2. 友记大山脚鸡饭店 -- Chicken Rice
I'm a fan of chicken rice larrr, and they have very yummy wan actually. The rice is very nice, love the fragrant! Usually I order Chicken thigh + Charsiew, and can ask for soup and taugeh as well. Quite worth it.
Ratings : 6.5/10
Address : Along Jalan SL1/3, Foursquare Link

3. 美味潮州鱼丸粉 Good Taste -- Teochew Fishball Mee
If you're craving for something healthy or something to eat while you're not feeling well, their fishball noodles are perfect! Can add on various sides like Wantan, Dumplings, Foochok, Yong Tau Fu and etc...The soup is pretty nice larr and they are very generous with the noodle/beehoon serving hehe
Ratings : 5/10
Address : No. 59, Jalan SL 1/4, Foursquare

4. MZ Food Corner -- Indian Food / Mamak
Actually, depends on what you order, the food here is actually slightly more expensive than your average mamak. But since I come here for all the Roti's and Teh Tarik, I manage to keep my expenses below RM6 larr...Well the food, is average larrr, nothing bad. Their nasi campus looks nice! I kinda like their Rojak (super big serving!) Anyhow it's a very nice place to makan with your friends larrr, got TV to watch and free Wi-Fi!
Ratings : 6/10
Add : No. 2, Jalan SL 1/2, Foursquare

5. Station 2 -- Mamak
The UTAR-ian supper spot, not just supper larr, many people have dinner here as well. Cheap and actually yummy!! You can order whatever roti you like, then there's nasi lemak, maggi goreng etc etc.... My fave : Nasi Goreng which is only 3 bucks but keeps you really full!
Ratings : 6.5/10
Add : Jalan SL1/3, Behind Station One Cafe (how else do u think d name came along). Foursquare

1. 满天星 Sparkling Star Rest -- Chinese
The typical 大炒 standard, with all the usual chinese dishes on the menu. Like Buttersauce chicken, Steam egg, Tofu with minced meat etc etc... I like their buttersauce sotong rice, but they r so giam siap with the butter sauce sigh, while being too generous with the rice. I end up finishing the dish with plain rice haha...
Ratings : 7/10
Add :  No. 57, Jalan SL1/4, Foursquare

2. 好好食面饭家 Good Taste Restaurant -- Local/Chinese
They are quite known for their Loh Shee Fun, Wantan Mee and Charcoal -Toast Bread. I think the wantan mee is really nice, the charsiew is so-so, but the noodles r quite good! The toast also very crispy and filled with super fragrant butter! Like ah!!The environment is also quite nice larr, good place to have lunch with the whole class.
Ratings : 7/10
Add : Jalan SL1/11, Foursquare

3. 美美板面 Mye Mye -- Pan Mee
Another PanMee specialty shop, they are pretty creative with their panmee range. I remember got pumpkin noodles, spinach noodles, then when it comes to the sauce, got Chili Panmee, Malat Panmee, Curry Panmee etc...However, it's not my fave la, probably because of the flavor doesn't suit me, kinda lack in taste haha...
Ratings : 5.5/10

Farewell -- Meet up with the dear ones

Ohkay.....just some update about things that happened in the past 2 months hehe...
so in June, I received my offer to study in NTU
after breaking the news to the close friends, we decided to meet up hehe...

So...first up
Surprise Gathering with the collegemates!
haha still can't forget how funny the incident was...
Our beloved professor Jinyun will be flying to UK to study her degree, therefore me and sheauwen decided to meet up with her.

A fb msg conversation with Sheauwen 2 days before the outing:
Me : eyh, do u wanna ask Jiachee, sookching they all to join
SW : Haiyer...can you just be naive like me jek! Dun ask lar!
What naive? what dun ask? Bu Ming Bai?
Keep your bu-ming-bai-ness...

So it was suppose to be just 3 of us. But in the middle of our lunch, our collegemates starts to appear out of nowhere, and all I had was a shocked face whenever they walk into the restaurant haha....Didn't really know it's actually a planned surprise farwell for me and Jinyun. Yea they did it, I was in fact surprised and also stunned like crazy. Coz i actually planned to have a gathering with collegemates, but thanks to d mastermind of this plan, who stopped me from inviting anyone else, I did not JIO other close friends. Then when our mastermind Sheauwen checked in on foursquare, everyone starts the BOJIO thing and I panicked coz i really felt bad that I didn't ask them to join us. haha then slowly things get fishy LOL
but it took me so long to realize it was a surprise hahahah....
nevertheless, they made me break a cold sweat seriously...

anyways, that day was indeed one of the best BETA gatherings I had in my life! It was just pure chit chatting session, everyone was updating about their lives, and encouraging each other, giving blessings to each other. I really love the strong bond we hold, omg i feel like crying as I'm writing this. I really love the Beta gang TT.TT  It was just so great to hear that everyone has settled down and we are all on track towards our dream! I mean, all of us really did struggle and all of us knew each other's hardship, it's just so heartwarming to see everyone finally going after what we want and we're happy for each other. :D

too bad I had to leave early, wished I could stay longer with them!

Then a week later, weekend hangout with the Sg Long Housemates and GG people, hehe GlobalEconomics Gang :D
I just feel so happy to spend time with them, at the same time I just wish we had more time, coz I realize there's so much things that I do not know about them....8 months was indeed too short :(

anyways, meet up with my housemates first and went afternoon tea with them
These two are like my brothers, one always help me do this do that, the other always listen to my crap haha...anyways we chat a lot that day and I know I'll miss talking to them so much!! They are really like family to me...the people that I turn to whenever I have problems and complaints...

 Thomson the Big Nice Guy

KK the Genius in a bottle

Yea we can be that that that crazy!

At night, I went midnight makan with my lecturer Ms Farah!! awesome experience, too bad I had to leave, or else this semester would have been super fun! haha...

So second day, went to Midvalley with the GG. Had our lunch at Chilis yo! which marks our Round 1 of the journey haha...Anyways, Chilis food portion is so big that it took us like 2 hours to finish our meal haha

while enjoying a cup of earl grey latte. Thumbs Up!

OMG we r d only ppl who can find fun in the middle of the bad haze haha...

So yea, after the round 5, I went back to hostel and started packing my stuffs :(
This time, I'm leaving for real. Really felt sad as I was tidying up the room and shifting all my stuffs in the bathroom and kitchen. I'll miss all these experiences in Sg Long so much...

30 Hour Famine -- Experience hunger and understand the danger

Just a short post here
about my experience at the 30 Hour Famine
Date : 13th-14th July

I had the privilege to be part of the committee of a DIY camp, thanks to Hanrui who pulled me in to work as the photographer.*winkwink* Obviously i'm nothing close to a pro when it comes to photography, I don't even know how to use a tripod *shameonme* haha...but I thought it is time for me to actually be part of this meaningful annual event and just contribute whatever I can to bring light into others lives.

Lots of photos to share haha(but malas to upload all), coz it was truly a fun camp The games are actually amazing(tho I'm not part of it) Every game has a lesson behind them and they kind of resemble the daily activities of children who live in India and are facing hunger issues. It actually give campers an idea of the situation of children in India, it allows them to have a taste of their daily lives where they are starved from food, clean water, electricity and shelter.

Yeap, every member has a disability(one-eye, tied-legs, onearm-disable, protein deficiency)
which are very common among children in India.

Fishing with tonados and tiger attack :
resembles the risks that fishermen face when they go out into the sea

 Fetching water using balloons:
resembles how children have to walk long distance just to get one small bucket of clean water
(and they usually have to take many rounds)

Building a shelter and finally tested with strong wind:
reflects the scarcity of strong houses that can withstand disasters

Other than that, starving myself for 30 hours was indeed a memorable experience. To my surprise, I didn't exactly feel hungry, I wasn't really craving for food (tho I keep on saying i'm hungry haha). Instead of hungry, I felt tired, as in lack of energy. It's not the sleepy type of tired, I just feel like I don't wanna do anything and just wanna stone there. That was when I realize, the real problem is not just hunger, but the effects of hunger that made the kids become malnourished, tired, incapable of studying well (as they can barely concentrate) and more prone to disease and also accidents

listening orders from someone who speaks with water in mouth :
To resemble what students feel or hear while in class --- vague and blurry statements ---- as they have no food and no energy to concentrate!

Anyways we went to the countdown event at Putra Indoor Stadium. It was indeed an awesome experience weih, it felt like a super high concert!! where everyone is there to celebrate something good and share happiness. There were lots of performances, including some k pop dance which I really adore haha. It was just awesome to indulge in music and art. My fave performances were from Faizal Tahir, Geraldine, Ryn and of course the ambassador for this event, Christine Fan! 范范,范玮琪!

My fave photo
sorry I shouldn't have printed my blogadd, this photo belongs to Jian Ung :D

BreakFast LORRRR!!!
Yam seng! omg essence of chicken to yumseng hahaha

Finally, a photo of me and DA Committee yo!
Just really wanna thank them larrr, coz they are just a bunch of super friendly people!!
Most of them, ok all of them, are younger than me by 2 years!
so yeap, consider my little bros and sis...haha
and I don't know them before, but I was grateful that we mixed along well in just a short period of time.
Not just friendly, they are also very funny, so many jokes and nonsense haha
and Everyone has a talent!! like seriously, gt ppl can sing, play guitar, plan piano, percussion etc etc etc if we had time n d equipment horr, the camp would have turned into a jam session hahaha
but the best part is still how we can just chat and joke around one another...
they are all a bunch of very smart, active and hardworking young people I believe
Though the camp is over, I really do wish them all the best and hope we'll meet soon!

Photo belongs to Jian (right??) lol
See this bunch of talented boys, they can just perform out of nowhere hehe...
anyways, the committee did a performance of the Cups by Anna Kendrick
if got video I'll share hehe...

Finally, meet da camp OC/Leader : Qian Ying
Very ambitious girl and has a heart for the society, really wanna thank her for giving me this opportunity to be part of this event hehe...
hope we'll gather again next year!!

Love Nuffnang
