My Burger Lab @ Taman Paramount

woaaa like finally visited this so-damn-popular My Burger Lab.
Okay I know I fail as a PJ-ian for never been to this highly rated restaurant, coz I've heard about the long queue and as time goes by many comments about it being overrated starts to surface. Anyhow, thanks to the bunch, get to try this for the first time!

It's delicious of course. It's definitely 3 steps higher than your usual fast food burgers. The ingredients, the texture, the taste. I like the sauces they use, slightly sweet. The beef patties were moist. The fries, Really love it. Crunchy, thick and lightly seasoned.

Beautiful Mess 5.0 -- RM19.00
Delicious! Probably because I love the crunchy yet juicy mushroom. Lots of texture in this one, the runny egg yolk, crunchy fried mushroom, moist beef patty, cheese, lettuce...omg omg omg
Nice!

Hangover -- RM16.50
Hashbrowns in your burger instead of a side!
Crunchy, mushy and sweet.

The A+ (Chicken) -- RM15.50
Love this one too, coz of the thick, tender and well seasoned chicken.
Something like my mom will do heh, delicious.

Prices stated above are Ala-carte (Burger ONLY) prices, you can top up RM6.00 to upgrade it to a set, with the yummy fries and also refillable drink.

Conclusion, the burgers are yummy, but I think the main point is the creativity in the burgers. The mix of ingredients to create the delicious taste and texture. It may not be 5-star yummy, but it's still a favorite. Will visit here again for the Beautiful Mess!

Fuddruckers @ Lot 10 Bukit Bintang

Out with the lady for some super full lunch!
Dined in Fuddruckers @ Lot10 thanks to a groupon voucher.
It originated from the US with its specialty in Hamburgers.
The hamburgers are priced by the weight of the patties.
My thoughts, the food is just okay...and definitely not worth the price. I'm not saying it's totally bad, but just there's no shining point about the food. Well maybe I didn't order the right thing. You can visit this place for a try if you fancy hamburgers with thick patties and loads of toppings.

The Works (1/3 lb) -- RM34.90
Was expecting something mindblowing since their specialty is burger. But turns out, it's okay. Beef patty slightly too dry and hard to chew (we asked for medium). Seasoning, too healthy LOL can't taste much pepper or salt.

California Chicken Wrap -- RM19.90
This is one is also not bad, love the chicken filling. Sweet and sour and slightly spicy with flavors from bell pepper. Together with the crunchy tortilla wrap, it's quite a burst of textures.

Mozarella Cheese Sticks -- RM18.90
This is sinfully yummy! But really can't eat without feeling guilty. I thought it's breadsticks wrapped with cheese but it's the opposite!! Idiot me didn't read the menu properly haha.
The Mozerella sticks are mildly salty, and carries a super delicious cheesy aroma. When you bite through it's crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and as you chew, the flavor from the cheese will slowly fill your mouth. It's nice really! I actually don't feel "jelak" but we couldn't finish afterall, coz it's just too much cheese for us take-in in a day.

Yeap, just one block of cheese...

All Berries and Mango Smoothy -- RM19.90 each

There's a salad bar where you can choose from a range of fresh greens, coleslaw, potato salad and etc

Love the location though.
It has the classic US diner interior.
Very spacious and the seats offer a view of the Jalan Imbi street.

For myself and the people who loves me.

Suddenly feel like writing some thoughts tonight.
Saw many "New Year Resolution" posts start to pop up on my blog feed. I use to do those as well, but I kinda give up doing it coz I know I always fail to achieve what I hoped for in those resolutions. LOL
But still, I'm writing this because of a small thing haha...

On New Year's Day, a holiday for mom, thought she'd stay at home but she went out. Was kinda feeling sad 'cause I thought we could spend some time together. But when she got back, there's a shopping bag with her, and my usual self was already thinking "Hah, she went shopping again, haizzzzzz, Waste money again." She walked towards me with the bag and immediately told me what she bought with enthusiasm. Turns out, she went out to buy a range of shampoo and conditioner and hair tonic for me 'cause she was frightened by my uncontrollable hair loss. She said she was sweeping the floor and the amount of my hair totally freaked her out LOL. True enough, last semester somehow made my hair fall like crazy, if hair can be sold I would have become a billionaire. I think my roomie find my hair loss disturbing also and there was one time she almost slipped coz there's just so much hair. I knew my hair loss problem got worse ever since I realize I can't skip sweeping the floor every 3-4 days unlike my previous weekly sweeping. My hair line widened and yes, every time I pull my fingers through my hair, there will always be at least 2 strands of hair stuck between my fingers.

I knew something is not so right with my health. But what makes me feel bad is seeing my mom feeling so worried. Haizzz feel so bad that she spent so much money to buy those products for me. :( It's not the usual Pantene or Sunsilk, I can buy Firefly return tickets to Singapore edi. Sorry lor, call me cheapskate but never in my life had I thought of spending more than 30 bucks for Shampoo haha (well maybe that explains my bad hair LOL) Anyways, yes she looked worried and the next day, she cooked herbal soup for me summore TT.TT

It was first day of 2015, and it really made me think hard on how I should live my life. I guess the only thing I want to put into my resolution list is to really STAY HEALTHY. I always wish people stay healthy but never realize it's actually one of the toughest thing to do, which explains why we use it in wishes right? Yea, I guess I really need to do whatever I can, to live a healthy lifestyle. Sleep early (oops it's 1am now), Eat more veggie and cut down on salty food. and DRINK MORE WATER. Oh well, the 3rd one seems to be the hardest thing to achieve and I don't know why. and also, time to say goodbye to my daily dose of Teh C bing :(

Yeap yeap, writing this to you guys as well!! Take care of your health before it's too late! and don't let the people who love you worry about you.

Here's some images and website I found about healthy lifestyle, might as well share it here:

Some links that talk about tips for healthy lifestyle, most of them are for teenagers haha (Sue me, I still wanna live like a teenager.)

I don't know why it took me so long to realize this, but now I truly think, being healthy on the inside is the only way to make you feel good and look good on the outside. This may be the key to all my problems. Let's hope I can stick to my promise heh!

Anyways, it's January again TT.TT and time to go back to the island soon. TT.TT
How time flies TT.TT
Holidays gone just like that. Will miss going out with daddy mommy. They always try to spend time with me, and whenever I wanna eat something they'll bring me there. Sorry if your bill spiked up this month haha...Gonna update here, some photos with the King and Queen and also Christmas shots at different malls! I guess this is the first holiday for me to visit so many shopping malls and their Christmas Deco.
well Prince Chow Chow seldom goes out with us and don't really like taking photos, so yeap as usual, our bonding time is in front of the television and singing kpop songs.

Whisk, Outpost @ 1 Utama

Short food review
If you're craving for some really good coffee in a cozy and modern-vintage ambience, or just want to have a chillax spot after all the shopping. This is the place to go! Never had smooth and aromatic coffee in such a long time! The moment I sipped the coffee, I can tell all the difference, and it's really indulgence.

Whisk Outpost @ 1 Utama

Bub's Cake -- RM13.90
Fudgey cake with strong rich banana flavor.
I think people who don't fancy sweet and heavy cakes will like this.
Not too sweet, not creamy.
Goes well with the coffee!

Mochaccino Con La Nutella -- RM14.00
Whisk's Hot Mocha
Yeap instead of chocolate, they used nutella! See how the cup is lined with nutella.
I was kinda shocked at first coz I asked for a hot mocha and the price startled me. LOL
But it's quite worth it afterall, super smooth coffee.
It might be slightly sweeter due to the nutella, but the texture is just....lovely.
I rmb I was having the omg-i-forgot-when-was-the-last-time-i-had-this expression, and my friend can't understand my idiotic reaction haha
But really, it's been a long while since I had good coffee, not that I don't like my 3in1 white coffee haha, but the taste, the experience is just, different!!

Love the place too, it was great to just sit down with a friend and catch up, with a lil noise from the chatting of the crowd in the background haha. It's like those classic coffee shops.

Movie Review: Night at The Museum 3 and Woman in Black

Very short review here...
Was able to catch 2 movies in the past week thanks to my very ON friends heh...
well the reason I say it will be short, coz, these 2 movies are not exactly my type of movies. But will still give some comments anyway.

1. Night at the Museum 3
Cast: Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais, Rami Malek, Patrick Gallagher, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson,
Genre: Comedy
Synopsis (from GSC Website):
After two unforgettable Nights at the Museum, Ben Stiller and company are back for another exciting night of adventure and laughs! Our new adventure begins at the opening of the new Planetarium in New York, when our museum heroes lose control of their minds and bodies as the tablet that brings them to life slowly begins to deteriorate.
Only Ahkmenra’s father knows the secret to restoring the tablet and as fate would have it, he’s displayed in London. The action moves to the famed British Museum of Natural History where, with a little help from some ‘new’ friends, they must risk everything to discover the secret to the magic tablet and repair it before Larry loses his museum friends forever.

My thoughts:
Just plain comedy man...if you really wanna laugh out loud, then watch this! Just loads of comedy, the actors are all wellknown comedians. Story, lol the storyline really doesn't matter much afterall. But the characters are the ones that shine. The interaction and chemistry between them is just so funny. I do love the fact that the movie goes to the British Museum this time, showing a whole new range of museum "friends". It's still a heart warming film. But still I wished there's a deeper meaning to this movie, coz spending RM15 to watch this in a cinema might not be very worthwhile.
Rating: 5/10

2. Woman in Black
Cast: Phoebe Fox, Helen McCrory, Jeremy Irvine, Oaklee Pendergast
Genre: Horror (OMG I just paid to watch horror again)
Synopsis:
40 years after the first haunting at Eel Marsh House, a group of children evacuated from WWII London arrive, awakening the house's darkest inhabitant.
http://www.gsc.com.my/Movie-Synopsis/Woman-in-Black-Angel-of-Death/

My thoughts:
Not as scary as I expected (Thank God), but there were still some eerie moments that keeps you on the edge of your seat and curse occasionally I actually like the background of the story, it's set in World War 2 era, so the characters, the visual effect all seems to give out the vintage-classy-but-creepy scenes. Another thing that I like about it being a horror movie, it's more on the psychological side and there's not much disgusting and bloody scenes. But, the not so nice point would be, I think the story line was kinda vague, I just felt the connection between the main characters could have been stronger, I guess it will haunt me more haha. Anyway, I still don't understand why this is rated PG13 haha, coz it's still quite scary for me LOL (Okay I know I suck) I saw kids in the theater man! Very hard not to have nightmares coz the story revolves around children as well.
Btw, I think Phoebe Fox is really beautiful.
Rating: 6/10

Haizzzz, it's my second time watching horror film in cinema and it's thanks to the same bunch of 损友 again!! They always buy movie tickets without telling us which movie 先斩后奏 :( Why on earth do they love horror movies that much?? TT.TT But luckily it was a weekday, cheaper tickets woohoo...

Anyways, here's my outing with Daphney last Saturday where we watched Night at the Museum 3. I was home alone that night, grateful that this girl was willing to be my dinner date! Very gamdong arr... Had a very wholesome dinner and decided to watch a movie at the last minute! Impromptu sia. Stupid moments we had haha. But I felt really happy that day, just food, movie, and of course, a best friend.

Haizzz seriously, IKEA is still the best place for dinner.

Love the refillable coffee of course. If it's during the day, we could have just sit there and chat for hours.

She bought a football from IKEA
and had to carry the ball in her arms the whole night
Even funnier she was wearing football jersey, people would have thought that she's an insane football fan that can't live without a football beside.

Oh ya, we 2 brave girls, stayed all the way till midnight, where the malls were all closed and car parks super empty.

Veng Soon Claypot Chicken Rice 永顺瓦煲鸡贩 @ PJ Old Town

Very short post here
But this is good stuff!! Been eating this since a kid and I think I really should recommend this on my blog!
Veng Soon is a claypot chicken rice restaurant in PJ Old Town. I know most people are more familiar with the Damansara Jaya one, but to me and my family, we still prefer this restaurant over others.
The chicken is just so tender and well seasoned. The rice, soft, moist and taste superb with the aromatic dark sauce. Whenever the claypot is served, the aroma from the rice and chicken is just mouth-watering! And together with the salted fish, it's really delicious. Besides, they also serve super tasty and warm double boiled soup. I ordered the same soup for at least the past 10 years! The soup has a natural yet rich flavor. I was craving for the soup when I got back from SG, instantly felt recharged after having the super fragrant claypot rice and delicious soup!

Claypot Chicken Rice (Big) -- RM15.00
Salted fish -- RM3.00
The only main course that the restaurant serves...
Rice with dark sauce, together with marinated chicken pieces and chinese sausages.

Claypot Chicken Rice (Small) -- RM9.00
I love scraping off the rice that sticks to the wall of the pot!

Dried Scallop Chicken Soup 干贝马来鸡汤 -- RM15.00
expensive I know, but it taste really awesome
been having this since a kid!
Natural sweet taste, and packed with the yummy essence of chicken soup.

Black Pepper Pig Stomach Soup 胡椒猪肚汤
One of the best

油麦 Romaine Lettuce -- RM8.00
Love it with the oyster sauce! Crunchy and lots of moisture!! Delicious.

Veng Soon Claypot Chicken Rice
F19, Jalan Pasar 1/21,

Selangor

 Extra! U Desserts at SS2
Crazy Waffle Ice Cream -- RM8.90
Not bad! But I would prefer the waffles to be fluffier!
