久违的cafehop!
Met the kind and funny siaopo friend from NTU before she flies to Finland for hot hunks exchange.
It will be next year when we meet :(
Exchange does make people emotional...
Anyways luckily we were able to meet up and had a really nice chat with her.Our dating venue? It's a primary school themed cafe in Uptown Damansara named Ecole P. Certainly brings back all the memories of a 90s kid. The wooden tables with "liquid paper" scribblings, blackboards, the opaque paneled glass windows, everything is somehow related to our classroom.
Racecar Pencilbox that holds the utensils and it;s kept inside the spongebob bag! So adorable.
Menu in the form of Student Handbook and Exercise book (Buku latihan)
Biscuits from our childhood that were used to be sold in big rectangular tins.
Fish A La Laksa -- RM 16.90
Owhhh never have I tot an fusion spaghetti can taste so good. The fish was awesome! Crunchy on the outside and mildly salted to bring out the natural fresh flavor of fish. The asam laksa gravy was well seasoned too, tangy and slightly spicy. I love all the crunchy cucumber and onions that adds the texture.
Nasi Lemak Creme Brulee -- RM10.90
Another fusion dessert! I kinda jawdropped when it was served. Damn there was anchovies on a sweet, milky and creamy creme brulee?? But the taste was really amusing, the creme brulee has santan flavors which resembles the rice in nasilemak, which makes it taste light and matches the anchovies. The sambal-jam which is both sweet and mildly spicy. Really creative and unconventional.
They have a selection of fruit teas which are named as TEAchers
Geography Teacher -- RM9.90
This was more berry-like
The milkbottle containes honey to add natural sweetness to the fruit teas
Art Teacher -- RM9.90
Has a mild sour taste from lychee
check out this Chiobu reading a book on our primary school desk.
Really did enjoyed our time there, especially when we discover more and more things related to our SJK memories. It was also a place where you will start storying your friend about your sometimes miserable yet carefree primary school memories. Great place to hang out!
After our lunch, we walked down the street to Dal komm, a korean dessert cafe that sells korean ice kacang aka bingsu and other coffee shop beverages. We ordered only one bingsu which is big enough for 3 person I believe.
Chocolate Lava Bingsu - RM19.90
see that lava cake!! It's delicious, fudgey, chocolatey and chewy. Goes well with the cooling ice and whipped cream. And not to forget all the chunky bits of chocolate in the ice. But personally I don't really like the texture of the ice, which is slightly more dense and coarser than ice kacang.
And that's where we continued to talk about whatever stuff for another hour, knowing that the next time we do this will be in 2016. This girl is now in Finland already, hope she finds a European bf there haha!
