Food Porn Tuesdays

In the same situation as the previous post. Listening to decision analysis. Was thinking whether I should make Tuesdays a Food Porn post kinda day thanks to this 3 hour window I have. But damnn I guess it's too late, this is already the last seminar LOL

Well this blog would be going into hibernation mode soon. Hope these yummy visuals will keep u entertained while my blog ceases operations heh

For this week, these are photos taken at PJ Uptown (Damansara Utama)

Cafe Lafayette
Aglio Olio and Salmon

Cafe Lafayette

Softserve

Epicuro
Pork Chop

Epicuro

Food prices in PJ is freaking me out recently. Despite my occasional splurge on insta-worthy meals, i still prefer good old yummy cheap eats. Here's one of my favorites in DU:

Annie 1
My favorite Wantan Noodles and Teh C

Just an add on, actually I tried the Deep Fried Mozzarella at Cafe Lafayette and i think it's worth recommending. But for some reason I didn't take a photo of it. Here's my friend Jingwen's instagram post of our meal that day. See the golden brown slices with cheesy strands on the right? Yep just try haha.

Ecole P and Dal.komm @ Damansara Utama

久违的cafehop!
Met the kind and funny siaopo friend from NTU before she flies to Finland for hot hunks exchange.
It will be next year when we meet :(
Exchange does make people emotional...
Anyways luckily we were able to meet up and had a really nice chat with her.

Our dating venue? It's a primary school themed cafe in Uptown Damansara named Ecole P. Certainly brings back all the memories of a 90s kid. The wooden tables with "liquid paper" scribblings, blackboards, the opaque paneled glass windows, everything is somehow related to our classroom.

Racecar Pencilbox that holds the utensils and it;s kept inside the spongebob bag! So adorable.

Menu in the form of Student Handbook and Exercise book (Buku latihan)

Biscuits from our childhood that were used to be sold in big rectangular tins.

Fish A La Laksa -- RM 16.90
Owhhh never have I tot an fusion spaghetti can taste so good. The fish was awesome! Crunchy on the outside and mildly salted to bring out the natural fresh flavor of fish. The asam laksa gravy was well seasoned too, tangy and slightly spicy. I love all the crunchy cucumber and onions that adds the texture.

Nasi Lemak Creme Brulee -- RM10.90
Another fusion dessert! I kinda jawdropped when it was served. Damn there was anchovies on a sweet, milky and creamy creme brulee?? But the taste was really amusing, the creme brulee has santan flavors which resembles the rice in nasilemak, which makes it taste light and matches the anchovies. The sambal-jam which is both sweet and mildly spicy. Really creative and unconventional.

They have a selection of fruit teas which are named as TEAchers
Geography Teacher -- RM9.90
This was more berry-like
The milkbottle containes honey to add natural sweetness to the fruit teas

Art Teacher -- RM9.90
Has a mild sour taste from lychee

check out this Chiobu reading a book on our primary school desk.

Really did enjoyed our time there, especially when we discover more and more things related to our SJK memories. It was also a place where you will start storying your friend about your sometimes miserable yet carefree primary school memories. Great place to hang out!

After our lunch, we walked down the street to Dal komm, a korean dessert cafe that sells korean ice kacang aka bingsu and other coffee shop beverages. We ordered only one bingsu which is big enough for 3 person I believe.
Chocolate Lava Bingsu - RM19.90
see that lava cake!! It's delicious, fudgey, chocolatey and chewy. Goes well with the cooling ice and whipped cream. And not to forget all the chunky bits of chocolate in the ice. But personally I don't really like the texture of the ice, which is slightly more dense and coarser than ice kacang.

And that's where we continued to talk about whatever stuff for another hour, knowing that the next time we do this will be in 2016. This girl is now in Finland already, hope she finds a European bf there haha!

Esquire Kitchen @ Atria, Damansara Jaya

This was my Childhood mannn....
I remember going to this restaurant almost every week in the old ATRIA.
And usually we kids will make jokes about the restaurant's name, like: 大人餐厅是给大人去的,我们小孩子不可以去。

I have always loved the dishes but I remember we never go there as often as the quality kinda dropped abit.

When the restaurant reopens in the new, revamped ATRIA shopping mall, we decided to give it a try again and damnnn it's delicious! My mouth is watering now as I'm thinking of the TungPo meat omggggg

Double Boiled Lotus Root Soup 莲藕汤 -- RM9.00
super refreshing and rich

Stir Fry Pork Strip SzeChuan Style 鱼香肉丝 -- RM18.00
One of my favorites! Love the crunchy texture of sengkuang and the mild sour flavor from vinegar. And of course the glorious taste of pork strips.

TungPo Meat 东坡肉 -- RM20.00
The signature dish, the gravy is so damn nice. The meat itself is tender with the delicious flavor of soy sauce and green onion. The 3-layer meat texture is just so satisfying. Pair it with the Flower buns (from first photo, RM0.90 each) to suck in extra gravy and make your own pork bun.

Paprika Chicken 宫保鸡丁 -- RM20.00
Another signature dish. Love the dark sauce with spicy and fragrant dried chilies.
Most importantly is the Wok-aroma, 锅气!

Stir Fry French Bean 干煸四季豆 -- RM16.00
Crunchy and fragrant, another rice thief!

This will always be on my list for yummy chinese dishes to pair with white rice. The flavors are really addictive, slight spicy dried chilies, green onion's sweetness, soysauce, and 锅气!

Panmee arrr Panmee!!!
After Jojo's, this place has become another favorite.

House Specialty Pan Mee (Dry) -- RM6.90
Love the runny egg and the slightly chewy noodles. Anchovies add the crunch. Together with the sambal that they provide, omgggg it's super delicious.

Sarawak Noodles -- RM6.90
Less oily version. But the noodles are still smooth and bouncy. Yummy!!

Specialty Pan Mee (Soup) -- RM6.90
The soup!! You'll love this when it's raining.

Chef's Special Fried Dumpling (5 pcs) -- RM6.50

Chrysanthemum Tea and Green Tea Latte

3 Layer Milk Tea

I think it's my first time eating so many of my favorite food within such a short time...
will just make a list here!!

1. Nasi Kandar at Kayu Nasi Kandar
Mutton Curry Nasi Kandar, Roti Tissue, Roti Kosong......I think I only tried 5% of their menu.

Beautiful Building, Local Must-Eat Food.

4. Bak Kut Teh at Chao Sheng
With the raining season, BKT is all you need.

6. Vegetarian Cuisine at Soong Foong Inn 松风小馆
Never miss the crunchy and addictive Buttercream Mushroom!

8. Satay Ara Madura Saleha at Kayu Ara
Satay Kambing in dark sauce instead of your usual peanut sauce. Delicious.

Love their signature panmee here. Must eat with the sambal they provide!

10. Ramli Burger at Mayang Jaya
Daging special with overloaded mayonnaise and chili sauce is the favorite.

11. Takoyaki at AEON 1 Utama
