Work Must Be Fun

Okayyyyy
time for a break from all da yummy post heheh....
It's July omggggggg
sorry please let me omggg again
Gonna go back to Pulau NTU soon TT.TT

Having mixed feelings now....
2 months was indeed too short :(
Gosh now the thought of working so far away from home haunts me all the time...
no more long holidays, no more spontaneous, "想回家就回家" trips back home
no more home cooked food haizzzzz

kk back to the topic haha
so what I'm up to these 2 months?
erm most of the time...working!
Yes yes yes!! For the first time I had a regular work! Though I'm only a temp staff la, but it's a full time job after all. My job is a rather simple one, Mon to Fri, 9 to 6...Yeap had a taste of being a white collar. and to be honest, I cringed at the thought of living like this for at least the next 30 years. And the thing is, my job is actually not that boring, but still, to go to a same place, doing the same thing everyday is just....

Well please I mean no offence or insult to hardworking white collars who work regular hours everyday to survive in this reality, in fact I thank you all and salute you guys for the effort.
My point is, through this work experience I realize, if it's going to be the same thing for the next 30 years, you really gotta choose what you like.

I know some of you will say, what u want and what u need usually won't come in a package, especially when it comes to Fun and Work, (or Fun and High-Pay) these two never really seem to fit in together. But now I think it's really important to try everything you can to get a balance of both. If you had a high pay work but you're so sick of it/ or too busy/ or don't enjoy it at all, these negative energy will really cling on you and suffocate you eventually, inside out.

You only live once.

The phrase that's keeping me alive and moving all these years. And after I worked, I realize this word should always be in your mind when it comes to any choices in life, especially job choices. Makes me think harder on what I want and how much I need to pay for it.

KK forget the emo part, just wanna share with you guys some interesting sites that I found regarding fun work place...

Hehe kk hmmm what else from my work experience.
One thing that kinda make me regret is I didn't really get to mingle with the people in my office. Yes for the first time I'll admit I was being anti-social. Sue me. Well I would say I was too shy and being the first time working in an office, I really had no idea what kind of interaction I should have with my colleagues and my boss.Okay I don't even know whether I should call them colleagues haha, coz I'm a temp staff afterall, and our work path barely cross each other since I only do one thing, which is telemarketing. We don't have much topics to talk about and I'll be gone in like one month time. Other people in my office are like mostly analysts, then some finance and IT people who sit around me, then there's HR and sales people.
I sort of have this mindset that my boss, IS MY BOSS, and I should be scared of him and I should talk to him like how we talked in the interview LOL and in fact I think of all the other permanent staffs like my superior/lecturer, I was too scared to speak casually to them since they are all elder than me. So yea, if I had a second chance, I will probably act like how I usually am....38. Now things are too hard to be reversed coz there's not much time left, and the people there are pretty used to me being an anti-social I suppose haha....better not surprise them now.

So yea, that's another important factor in a happy work place, the people around you!

Btw photo sharing....hehe Job Perks...
5-star buffet at Shangri La hotel
Yea sue me for acting like a kampung girl who never eat buffet before. But it was real long since the last time I had buffet and in fact, first time at 5 star hotel. Well not all the dishes are good larr, but some are rather unique and yummy.

Let me list out how many types of meat are there in this plate haha
Clockwise from 9 o'clock
Salmon, Beef with sausage inside, Pepperoni and Ham, Smoked Duck slices and Chicken Drumstick.
I love the braised beef with sausage, super tender and juicy. Duck slice was also awesome, with a thin fatty layer and chewy meat.
The orange color pasta on top taste terrible, probably forgot the salt.

Desserts! Wuaaa check out the Blueberry Cheesecake with the Shangri La chocolate tag LOL
anyways they taste okay larr...I like the Chocolate Puff with Mango Cream inside.

and a cup of coffee to complete the day.

selfie at the lobby, with the maze garden behind me.

Okay enough about work.
what else about the sembreak? Well as you can see from my previous posts, met up with friends lorr...
and of course one of the best part of sem break FIFA WORLD CUP arr!!!!!

Haizz I thought I'm not that much of a football person, since I didn't watch any football match since the end of previous world cup. But when I watched one of the matches again, omg the spark for world cup ignited liao!!! Haizzzz but damn sad I have no Astro at home. Can't go out to mamak coz it's too late and my parents don't allow. and the even saddest thing, I can't even watch the ones showed on TV1/TV2!! Omg fml seriously, coz my TV has only the Hypp TV channels as we don't have the antenna. OMG damn emo, got TV oso cannot watch. I think it's due to some conflict of interest, Hypp TV's TV1 and TV2 will show something else when a match is being showed live on the usual TV1 channel.

btw, just read about Neymar's injury, OMG gonna cry liao :( he's like my favorite player. haha yea I'm one of those girls who watch football partly because of the lengzai's haha... well There's still Germany team hehe and Messi and Van Persie haha.... anyway, I feel sad for Brazil, Neymar was pretty much everyone's target during the matches. 太厉害也不是好事。Hope Brazil will still play well when against Germany.

omggggg My favorite players and their sons!!!!
Cute daooooo!!!!!!
Messi's son is sho adorable! Like mini Russell from Up. These two confirm lengzai's in da future haha omg this photo can make me scream for hours.

hmm that's pretty much I can talk about now...
more updates soon...

heheh selfie

DIY Lip Balm

woohoo, something that I always wanted to do. Lip Balm. Basically it's the easiest thing to do, yet it has so many functions and the raw materials are quite affordable :D

Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax and Honey

Bought the Almond Oil, Natural Beeswax and the Beaker from Beauty360 at beauty360degrees.com

 Added Vitamin E as well

Basically, I had my own way of doing it after refering to different websites (and also after many failures).
6 - 7 parts of Oil to 1 part of Beeswax
A Little bit of Honey will do because honey doesn't mix well.
1 capsule of Vitamin E as preservative.
Melt the beeswax and oil in microwave or in my case, in water bath.
Remove from heat and add in the honey and the contents of the Vitamin E capsule.
Mix well and ta-dah

See, my 1st try, the honey didn't mix, so it couldn't harden.

Then the 2nd time, still the same problem.
Then 3RD TIME!!
My gosh I almost cried. Maybe I was rushing, I accidentally spill the contents into the water. Haizzzzz I used twice the amount of raw materials, hoping to finish in one shot. But clearly, the faster you want, the slower you get.
The sad thing is not because I failed, but because I have to wash everything and My Goodness they are all wax and oils. So freaking hard to wash off. And the more i touch things, the more oily my kitchen gets. There's nothing that can wash off the oils except my Make-up Remover. Use almost half of the bottle to clean the wax and oils on the sink, the boiler, the beaker. Used super a lot of kitchen towel as well. TT.TT

Thank God, I made it at the 4th time!!! and the Oil was just enough to make 10 lip balms.

Bought the containers at Sasa and the Hello Kitty one from HOMES@1u

Decorating the lid.
Apparently, my friend suggested to call my lip balm brand JIAPHORA as in like Sephora LMAO

Basically, it's a very moisturizing lip balm because it has both Sweet Almond Oil and Honey, plus Vitamin E that heals wound. After my short "clinical trial", the balm really softens my lips, as in really soft. and a few days later, you can feel the moisture and there's less chapping.

Yay!! Feel so good, to do something I like and sharing it with others at the same time! Hope you guys will like it :D

Bowl-ed, GongCha-ed

Let's see, this was on Monday, which was a public holiday. So yes, time to have some fun. Well in fact, lots of fun! XD

This is my second time in MidValley this year. My Gosh, just like how I was in February, I got lost AGAIN. There's a good reason to why it is called Megamall. Anyways, met up with others and went to Carl's Jr. for lunch. Then, went to Cosmic Bowl. Had loads of fun, but I don't know why, I sucked. I use to play quite okay, not good, but okay, but dunno why dat day.....haizzzz But anyways, others did quite well. and there were a lot of funny moments hahahaha....Oh this is my 1st time bowling in Midvalley, and I'm quite impressed with the glow-in-the-dark concept. :D will come back soon hehehe...

Thanks to the nice Malay Lady who help us take this photo :D

Then then then, was walking around, trying to look for an orange ping pong ball. yes, 9 of us, looking for ONE Orange Ping Pong Ball. LOL then followed JiaChee to eat Asam Laksa. After that, went to the Gardens. Well do what? Pluck Tea Leaves???

No Tea Leaves in The Gardens, but there's Gong Cha.
My drink, recommended by Daniel and Ann.
Wintermelon Milk Tea with White Pearls, RM7.40 if I'm not wrong.
The Milky part taste really really good. But it's a bit too sweet. Should have asked for less sweet. Still love the taste larrr, I think they used something like the 糖冬瓜. Very special one, really should try.

Check out more at:

The queue was really really long, so..... while waiting....

I bet the people who were lining up must be wondering why are these people crowding in front of a mirror. wanna fix hair arr???

After that, walked to Carrefour for some Grocery Shopping. Not me la, just the guys who lives in the hostel. I can't help but to feel impressed with how independent they are.
Then went home after that. Kinda tired, but it was really really a fun day!!! So much laughter. Really Glad to know these people in college.

wONDERFUL mARKET!! and yummy Nyonya Nasi Lemak at Old China Cafe

Wonderful Market by Pipit Zakka Store :D

Sat for the final paper on Friday, which is actually IELTS, almost fell asleep during the test. Anyway, exams are really really over. well trial exam at least. so yeap i decided it was time for me to go out and get some vitamin D after so many weeks of isolation from the outside world. So yea, my dear friend SookChing asked me to go to this Wonderful Market sale which is an event hosted by the Pipit Zakka Store. Basically it's a market that sells local artists' arts and craft works. Well unlike my friend, I'm not a very big fan of arts and crafts, but I thought it will be interesting to go have a look at all these uniquely made items. and yea, it didn't disappoint me, there was a lot to see, and they are all really cute and also charming. My hands were really itchy itchy, I could have bought everything if I have the money....

so yea, took LRT to Pasar Seni, walked pass the graffiti murals and head towards Central Market. It was a Saturday, so the place was, BUSY. A lot of cars, a whole lot more of people...

I reach around 11.45am and met up with SookChing and her mommy, aunt and sister.I was kinda shocked to see so many people already lining up at the entrance. So I know the market must be really really interesting. at around 12 something, the door opens...

my gosh.....there's SO MUCH TO SEE!!!!

look at the crowd.

I only took some photos, coz "idiotic me" brought the camera but forgot to bring the battery. Anyways, there are all kinds of items sold. From bags, handphone pouches, dolls, plush toys, notebooks ETC ETC. The spotlight is more on the DESIGN of the item. Every artist has their own style.
After that, walked around Petaling Street area while drinking Loh Han Guo, thanks to Sookching's aunt. Walking under the big hot sun is kinda fun if u have a refreshing drink with you!

Then it was lunch time!! Thanks to SookChing's mom, who brought us to a really cool Nyonya Restaurant, I get to eat some good food again!! heheheheh happy happy me :D
Well it's called Old China Cafe @ Jalan Balai Polis, which is somewhere near to the Petaling Street.

Behind those doors, is a really really authentically decorated cafe. It gives a very warm and cozy feeling and also makes u feel like you're back in the 50's or 60's. I adore the place. and I'm pretty sure the foreigners love it more, why?? coz all the customers we saw are foreigners, as in mat salleh's :D (we were the ones who look like outsiders) LOL so there's definitely a charm to that place.

I just enjoyed sitting there and just stare at all the aged photos, portraits, paintings and also some antiques.

Food?? Lagi Best!!
Nyonya Nasi Lemak for RM 9.90
Delicious!! Especially the curry. I can't take very spicy stuff, so that curry was just exactly how I like it, not so spicy, but with a very yummy taste of all the spices and also santan, i'm quite sure there's also serai. And the chicken is really well marinated and has a very nice texture. See the rice, my fave color LOL, very pretty right? The sambal is also nice coz it's not too spicy, but has the sour taste which is very appetizing :D I finished everything, only left with tiny bit of sambal. well you know i can't take spicy stuff hehe...
I think they kinda of adapted it, so it's not that spicy, foreigners can enjoy the local food without making themselves sweating and turning their face red.

Find out more about Old China Cafe at http://www.oldchina.com.my/ocklindex.htm

yea, after the lunch, walked around abit to digest the food hehe....and walk past many accessories supplier shops. My gawd, they have everything mannnnn, every color, every style, every design, from earrings, to hair clips, to necklace etc etc. and they sell it at a much much cheaper price. I will definitely visit there again :D

A pair of earrings that I bought from the Wonderful Market. Well it's actually a small small gift for my mom and she likes it. weeeeee :D

all the beautifully designed name cards of the artists from the Wonderful Market!!

I had a really really great day. It's been a while since the last time I walked so much at an area outside of PJ. and it's really rare for me to go out and just walk along streets because my parents are not those shopping people that can walk for hours. I just find it really really fun to walk here and there, in and out. Saw many things, many beautiful and interesting things, and the best part is that I get to drink and eat good food as well!!! Thank you so much Sook Ching!!! and your mom and your aunt! for giving me a fun day!!

A gift from SookChing, made by one of the artist from the Pipit Zakka.
Thank you so much, this is really beautiful, and really special to me.
That's a really huge mic for her.

Sweet from the bottom of my heart :D

I always have this dream of owning a cafe. A cafe that people, friends, family, colleagues can just hang out and have a good time and also eat something yummy at the same time :D Well that's because I love places like that. Nothing is better than having a cup of nice coffee and also a sweet cupcake.

Well anyways, It's been a while since I baked and I realize I haven't used the electric mixer that my parents bought me as a gift 2 years ago. So yea, QT is over and last Friday was a public holiday, hehe, my kiddish side is out and ready to do damage to the kitchen muahahahahahaha. So I wanted to try using the mixer larrr, but I wasn't ready to bake something that I've never done before, so my plan was to bake muffins but this time, with buttercream icing made by the electric mixer. WooHoo!!!

And actually, I'm also trying out the new oven which is a gift from my aunt.

Shopped for all these at Bake With Yen at Taman Megah!!!
let me see, there's flour, icing sugar, castor sugar, unsalted butter, choc chips, cocoa powder, full cream milk, vanilla essence, baking powder and soda, the rainbow deco-sugar and also the piping bag!!!
Love the shopping feeling!!! Shiok aaaa!!!

The dry ingredients for the muffin XD

My Awesome Philips Cucina Electric Mixer :D
Used it to make the ButterCream Icing which consist of Icing Sugar and Butter in the ratio of 5 : 3
then just add in cocoa powder (mixed with abit of water) or vanilla essence.

Decorating was the best part mannn
I always wanted to use the piping bag. and finally I get to use it muahahahaha
Even went on Youtube to search for tutorials to use this thing LOL

Done :D

This one is specially made for my brother. Which he requested for this pattern. Can't believe he brought his lameness into food...

The second day, I baked again hehehehehe
since there's quite a lot of ingredients left...plus I was thinking of baking it for my born-in-sept and oct classmates as a small early bday present.
Mummy suggested to buy smaller and cuter cups for the muffins
so went back to Bake With Yen again, and found this cute lil' pink muffin cup :D

For some reasons, I like how they burst with all the cracks.

This time, used Vanilla Icing. Which suits choco muffin better :D
I really like the Boy and Girl muffin haha

Yum-Yum

Apparently, mommy-who hates butter and sweet stuff- likes it. In fact she was asking for more, brother liked it too. hmmm, i guess i shall bake again??? I LOVEEEEEE BAKING :D
