Lady M @Orchard Central and The Sushi Bar @Takashimaya

Visited Orchard Road several times in the previous month to check out the Christmas Illuminations. Awesome night outs with some delicious treats with the dear friends. Here's some recent food finds to share with you guys!

1. Lady M @ Orchard Central

Lady M is no new name to locals, this outlet at Orchard Central have always caught my eye whenever I visit Orchard Road in the past. I like how it has floor length windows which gives a view of the bustling and happening Orchard Road, while you can sit back and enjoy yummy mille crepe with your friends. Honestly, I don't shop at Orchard malls, so a place like THIS, would be perfect for a day out with friends.

Green Tea Mille Crepe -- S$9.00
Love this version of Green Tea desert. I don't like it when the Green Tea is too strong and ends up giving a bittery taste. But this one is just nice, with the mild scent of matcha, the creme was surprisingly light and not too sweet.

Signature Mille Crepe -- S$9.00
Love this as well! It's one of those very simple yet satisfying cream flavor, so sinful but just can't resist haha. Usually I couldn't finish half a mille crepe, but these two, we were able to sweep all without feeling sick.

Latte -- S$6.00
Earl Grey Lavender -- S$6.00

2. The Sushi Bar at Ngee Ann City

At the rather quiet corner of Ngee Ann City is this Japanese restaurant where you'll see almost every table has a plate of sashimi. Gotta say this is not your usual sushi bar, forget the usual salmon nigiri or oyako don, the menu has many interesting dishes. I guess sashimi or aburi seems to be the main star, there's literally a sushi bar, with all the fresh looking sashimi cuts on display. It's abit pricey though, but not disappointing at least.

dinner date of the day, it's been so long since we have a proper catch up. Finally, a meal without talking about work!

Scallop Mentaiyaki -- S$14.90
Mentai can never go wrong, this is so good hahahaha. Slippery and slightly chewy scallop, seasoned with the delicious and slightly burnt taste of mentai sauce. Like like like!

Aburi Salmon Don -- S$22.90
It's like a more satisfying version of aburi salmon sushi. More salmon strips and you can load a mouthful of vinegar rice into your mouth hehe.

Dragon Roll -- S$25.90
I'm a fan of maki rolls with crunchy filling. This is tasty, with buttery avocado and mayonaisse, together with the crunchy shrimp. Nice!

3. Haidilao Hotpot 海底捞 at 313 @Somerset

Just a short review, finally get to try the much raved haidilao hotpot that has attracted long waiting lines. I've heard they have the best service but turns out, I feel extremely uncomfortable because of this "best service" haha, really not use to it. But gotta say the staffs are very very friendly and it really does give a better dining experience. Love the wide range of sauces, I personally love the mushroom sauce hehe. The soup were great too, personally prefer the tomato soup base over the mushroom one. Three of us spent around S$120 which includes one serving of pork belly and one serving of black pork, plus some veggies, mushrooms, fish paste, deep fried fish skin. And also, we ordered three servings of the House Made Noodles, which comes with a live noodle making show LOL. We were stuffed when we left.

And that's my dear UTAR unimate who came to SG to visit us.

TGIF at Holland V: Bar Bar Black Sheep

Another TGIF and it's my first time meeting with the girls since we started our summer breaks. It's the first time for us to be meeting so far off campus, the most we've been to is just Jurong East LOL. Great to be meeting up and being ourselves again, noisy as ever. But instead of complaining about how ridiculous our lecturers are, we were pretty much talking about how mundane our life has become since internship, and dreaming a little bit about our Grad Trip haha.

Had our dinner at Bar Bar Black Sheep, rather interesting restaurant that has both Western, Japanese and Indian cuisine on its menu! But too bad their Western kitchen was already closed when we arrived. Most of us had their Japanese don and one ordered the Mutton Curry.

Agedashi Tofu (S$5.90) and Tempura Vegetables (S$8.90)

Unagi Don (S$ 14.90)
Their kitchen ran out of Japanese rice and hence served this with the Basmati rice.
Quite an interesting twist, sometimes I do get kinda sick with the round and sticky Japanese rice. The slightly crunchy texture of Basmati rice still goes well with the runny eggs and teriyaki sauce. The eel taste great, but the serving is a little small.

Chicken Karaage Don (S$11.90)

Curry Salmon Don (S$13.90)
How to not like deep fried salmon. The curry taste pretty good, lots of potatoes and sweet onion. It's slight spicy but doesn't have the overwhelming aroma of tumeric. Not bad not bad.

For the dons, they give a lot of rice....as you can see we just can't finish it.

Well the food is okay, nothing much to complain about. Price, quite affordable and I appreciate the variety of food here. Ambience, very lively, for us it's fine coz we love to talk, but some might find it a little bit too noisy. Overall, it's good and I don't mind coming back to try other food.

Moved on to second round at Breko Cafe, which is at another lively street of Holland V.
We were pretty full from our dinner and hence was just craving a little bit of desserts, but turns out many of the desserts cafe close pretty early. End up visiting this cafe after checking out their dessert menu.

Was pretty pleased by the ambience of the cafe but what came after we placed our order really disappointed me. Well we ordered only one dessert for the five of us since we weren't really hungry. I know we must have looked like those cheapskate customers in your eyes but do you have to be so rude? First they served us the knives and forks and to our horror, there's still traces of jam stained on the knives. When I say traces, I don't mean those tiny traces, I mean streaks of red jam that could hardly miss anyone's eyes. Damn disgusting, now I wished I took a photo of it. So we asked the waitress to change for us, and I asked politely summore. But the way she responded doesn't seem like she feels sorry to us at all. It's not like she was being totally rude, but still, you can feel that she just don't care much. Oh well, I don't understand why these people just don't see the lifetime value of customers. If they had treat us nicely, I would have come back next time for their brunch menu that looks very pleasing. But now, I think it's gonna be a few years before I visit here again.

My pretty darlings.
Our table at a very cosy corner of the cafe.
But the sofas look pretty dirty tbh.

Brownie Overload (S$13.90) and Flat White (S$5.00)
The dessert was just okay... probably because the waiter and waitresses' attitude killed our taste buds before we try this.

Well we still enjoyed ourselves despite the terrible service. Gonna make the most out of this trip since we probably won't visit again haha.

And that's pretty much our Friday night. It's my first time spending a Friday night at Holland V, gotta say I love the atmosphere here. Just very lively and vibrant, but without getting too messy or noisy. Everyone's here to sit back and relax, blow water with friends and enjoy drinks. Will definitely check out more restaurants and bars over here in the future.

It's almost a month since internship started. Hope we all jiayou and enjoy our internship journey!

Featured in Descendants of the Sun: Seorae at Plaza Singapura: Meet Joongki Oppa here!!

Decided to try doing short reviews using the mobile app instead of using the web version which requires me to transfer all my photos to my laptop and God knows how long would it take before those photo appear on my blog.

Lots of food to share these few months! So gonna try uploading them via phone.

Anyways, this was just yesterday!
Went out with these girls for lunch and tea time. Decided to go Seorae Korean Barbecue Restaurant @Plaza Singapura simply because... haha it was a restaurant featured in Descendants of the Sun! Lollll
Yeshhhh this is the power of Descendants of the Sun! Really forgot when was the last time I fell so hard for a fictional character haha.

Anyways, I would say the prices are quite affordable! Didn't try the barbecue coz only two of us eat meat. But tried the spicy Bean Paste Stew ($14.90) instead. Ordered a Bibim Bingsu ($12.90) to share and the total bill for 3 of us was $60. Also there's refillable korean banchan (side dishes) like bean sprouts, kimchi and spinach. Would visit again for the Barbeque!

Next we also had a short break at Hoshino Coffee at Plaza Sing as well. Personally think it's a pretty cafe with an interesting Japanese meals menu. My friend ordered a Omu Rice, where the egg was made like a souffle! Super fluffy, warm, creamy and omg that steamy aroma of eggs and cream. Gonna try it again some day.

LOL The Moment!
Yes guys, don't judge! When you like a character so much, even taking a photo with a paper cut out is genuine joy haha.

Doenjang Jjigae, Bean Paste Stew - $14.90

Bibim Bingsu - $12.90
Try that egg!
