K la, After going to these coffee shops in JB, I've decided to compile them and recommend the best offering from each cafe. Enjoy! Have a cuppa.

Click on the link to see the individual reviews

What to try: Affogato Luxurious

This is definitely one of the trendiest coffee shops in JB. Indulge yourselves in this industrial looking secret hideout. Great place for the weekend gathering with your closest friends. Of course, the topnotch quality of their coffee and food definitely will enhance your experience further.

Location: 30, Jalan Mutiara Emas 5/3, Taman Mount Austin

Affogato Luxurious -- RM12.00
Your usual affogato with a luxurious twist: warm alcohol
Cold on your tongue, but heat down your spine.

What to try: Rose Latte

The coffee pro people's hangout spot, indulge in high quality coffee with elegant and contemporary ambience. Great place to just quietly sip your coffee and talk about good things in life with your friends.

Location: 73, Jalan Molek 3/10, Taman Molek, 81100 Johor Bahru

Rose Latte -- RM13.00
Never knew rose extract TASTE this good besides from the irresistible floral scent. Bittersweet done awesome.

What to try: Macadamia Latte

Love their super smooth texture and slightly moist foam. Open and comfy environment, great for lunch dates and also gatherings with your favorite people to chat and enjoy the food.

Location: 51-01 Jalan Molek 2/1, Taman Molek, 81100 JB

Macadamia Latte -- RM11.90

What to try: Magic

Magic is their specialty here, sorry I don't have a nice photo of it. But it's definitely for someone who prefers something in between a regular latte and piccolo latte. Less milkier than latte, with heavier espresso content. Something you would occasionally crave for after all your usual lattes and mochas. My flat white taste awesome though, super smooth and the foam was kinda like candy for some reason haha. Interior looks simple, chic and elegant, great place to have a coffee with your colleagues after a whole day of hectic work.

Location: 19, Jalan Molek 1/5C, Taman Molek 81100, Johor Bahru.

Flat White -- RM9.00

What to try: Flat white with homemade cookie and Lemon Cheesecake

Love the cheesecake coz it's not too heavy but the cheese is really smooth, perfect to go with your coffee. Coffee taste great, not so much of the bitter type, suits most people from different age groups.
Very warm and friendly cafe, with super comfy chairs and tea-lounge like interior. Great for a weekend gathering with your best friends to gossip, maybe complaint about work and of course laugh heheh...

Location: 147, Jalan Mutiara Emas 10/19 Taman Mount Austin
Flat White -- RM8.50

Lemon Cheesecake -- RM9.90

What to try: Mocha

The mocha doesn't taste like your usual mocha with chocolate syrup, it has a strong taste of cocoa but without the sugar(unlike chocolate). So yea, very aromatic and less sweet. The place, Love it. Simplicity and serenity. Quiet and spacious with urban furnishing. The wood and steel concept. I would say it's suitable for people who like to sip their coffee on their own, or come with a few friends for a quiet afternoon tea.

Location: 29, Jalan Molek 1/12, Taman Molek, 81100 Johor Bahru

Mocha -- RM11.00

What to try: Latte and Baked Rice

This cafe takes pride of their amazing latte art, where pictures of them are showcased on the walls of the restaurant. Latte taste great, love the balance of milk and espresso. Slightly more bitter but has a sweet aftertaste. Try their baked rice!!! It's not exactly special but still it's good. Looks cheesy but believe me it goes well with the rice and very appetizing. The place? Beautiful, feels like cozy home inside with wooden tables and chairs. On the outside, it's warm and looks like a garden tea lounge for Tai-Tai day.

Location: 7A Showhouse, Jalan Persiaran Jaya Putra 1 Bandar Jaya Putra 81100 Johor Bahru

Bacon and Mushroom Baked Rice -- RM17.90

Latte -- RM8.90

snap loads of photos when you're there!

This is a very chic cafe with a wide range of food to choose from. From my previous visit, the coffee and food actually taste good, but I wasn't able to try out their impressive variety of western desserts. There's macarons of different flavors, cakes like tiramisu and brownies, creme brulee, and more!! The place, very spacious and I would say it's great for a sophisticated lunch or afternoon tea. 9. Be Coffee (former Just Want Coffee @ Taman Molek)

Caramel Macchiato -- RM9.50

If you happen to go Be Coffee, you'll love the classy and luxurious interior especially this full length display shelf of coffee brewing equipment.

Not exactly a cafe but it's a great hangout spot to indulge in delicious meal and tasty wine. Really fell in love with the Rose of Salmon Aglio Olio, it's my favorite fish on my favorite pasta.

Location: 65,Jalan Austin heights 8/5, Taman Mount Austin, 81100 Johor

20. Diagon Alley
All the way from Taiwan, it's not just for coffee fix but getting a boost of energy from all the fun and wacky beverages over here. Plus, the name is already doing its magic.

Location: 49-GF, Jalan Austin Heights 8/1, Taman Austin Heights, Johor Bahru

21. Kolla Coffee
Hands down one of the best brunch I've ever had. Initially the menu didn't seem to look impressive because the combination of ingredients isn't exactly familiar. But hey, the offering here is special, delicious and very satisfying. What's more, even the mocktails gives a refreshing boost. The garlic bread toast was so good, so does the delicious croquet and otak-otak sandwich.

Location: Lot 2110&2111, Jalan Permas Utara, Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, 81750 Masai Johor

22. Union Fashion Bar
Another unexpectedly delicious restaurant. Usually restaurants that has too many things on their menu tend to taste not as well. But everything I had from this restaurant was delicious. So good that I thought I was just lucky. Personal favorite is the Salmon Penne in Pink Creme Sauce, which is pretty much the goodness of carbonara and tomato combined.

Location: No 24, Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/4, Taman Sutera Utama, Skudai, Johor

Sukiya @ Taipan USJ

TGIF with my chui shui gang again!!!
One of the best fridays ever!!!!
Why, coz I had a really really stressful week
well won't complaint much about my work here...maybe another post
but ya, it was just stress, I felt like a pressure tank that week,
Anyways, got to meet up with my high school buddies and turns out they were as stress as I was
Everyone needed a relief!

How to pamper ourselves?? Good food la!
Our first stop, went to the not-so-famous but very yummy

Sukiya @ USJ Taipan

While we were on the way to subang, thinking of how to answer The Hardest Question in The World -- "Eat What?", suddenly Gavin thought of this place and the next thing we know, it seems like nothing can stop him from going there haha...Gavin says their Gyudon rocks...and yes he's right!

Both yummy and affordable, Sukiya is a rather unique fast food restaurant that sells Gyudon aka Japanese Beef Rice. Well no worries for those who don't take beef, there's other alternatives on the menu as well. To my surprise the place was quite empty on a Friday night. For a fast food restaurant the ambience is actually pretty good, but still you can't get rid of the super strong greasy smell that all fast food chain has.

Japanese Fast Food lerr!!
Like like...

Cheese Gyudon (Large) -- RM12.90
Gavin's choice, nothing can go wrong with this steak and cheese combination! On top of that there's a mild yet aromatic flavor of teriyaki sauce I guess, and extra sweetness from caramelised onions.
By the way, like any other fast food restaurant, you can choose the size for your meal.
There's Small Medium and Large bowl, with RM2.00 difference in price from each size.

Kimchi Gyudon (Small) -- RM8.90
Me and Daph's
Love it!!! Spicy and sour cabbage with the sweet and chewy beef strips. I don't know what word to use to describe the beef, erm.....the flavor, I know not everyone likes it, but I really like the only-beef-has-it taste. It's so strong that the smell can rush up to your nostrils after you placed it on your tongue. Sounds exaggerating but I'm not. Rice is the soft type but with a little crunch, and it absorbs all the flavors of the sauce. Nice!

Seafood Tofu Set Add On -- RM5.00
Miso Soup (ala carte) -- RM2.50
The Add On includes this seafood tofu and also one drink/miso soup.
I didn't feel like having soft drinks so I asked for miso soup.
Tofu was really normal, well I guess for 5 bucks it's still worth it, but I suggest there's no need to have this add on, maybe try others.

Anyways I would say the Extra Point for this restaurant being casual dining with delicious food at affordable prices. Try this place if you want a special fast food experience.

Suddenly realize that Me and Daph are wearing similar styles haha
saw this pretty wall with interesting photos, decided to take a photo heheh
Thanks Gavin for being the photographer though you very beh tahan and can't wait to dig in.

Stuff Your Face Cafe @ Bangsar Shopping Center

Daph decided to pay me a visit at my work place
Well I wasn't sure where to take her for lunch coz my area, there's only one shopping center and God knows how pricey the food is. I usually bring my own lunch to my work place or I just simply don't eat.

Since she's dropping by, kinda googled BSC, only to find super expensive food, most of them at least 30 bucks per meal. Finally found this simple little cafe, hidden at the 4th floor of BSC beside a children's ice skating rink and playground.

Stuff Your Face Cafe @ Bangsar Shopping Center

When we reached there, the place was empty, probably because of it's rather remote location LOL But as we were waiting for our food, there were actually more customers coming up and in fact, some of them are actually mothers who were making reservations for a children's party to be held here. Yes, no doubt this is a wonderful place to celebrate your precious children's birthday, with all the children playground, arcade and skating rink beside, it would be awesome.haizzz 现在的孩子真幸福。Plus the cafe looks very cosy and warm, with white color furnishings and home like decor, great place to just rest and relax.

Spaghetti Carbonara RM18.00
Doesn't look exactly nice, but it's actually quite tasty!
Loads of cheese that burst into yummy and rich flavors in my mouth.
Not too heavy coz the sauce it's not that thick and rich, just a mild taste of creamy flavor. Crunchy bacons and mushrooms adds texture and more flavor into the spaghetti. Nice.

Soba Aglio Olio RM20.00
Quite a special fusion dish I must say! Looks abit like "Wat Dan Hor" but the taste is actually both western and oriental. Soba has a lighter and softer texture and but also crunchy, and the sweet sauce is rich with a little bit of heat. Very refreshing flavor in my opinion.

Cappuccino RM8.00
Both of us ordered the same drink. Simple and full bodied cappuccino by Lavazza.

Lunch date of the day : Daphney!

The simple yet pretty interior.

Well after finishing our food, we decided to head out to the balcony area and have a look. Love the place so much, it's like a secret hideout for people to sip coffee and have a good view of Bangsar
Okay, I admit not exactly good view larrr since it's all just concrete jungle, but just a place for you to view from high and observe some peace.
really love all the white color chairs and tables.

There's some nostalgic items on set, ice cream truck? and a scribbled Blackboard.

Not bad right the view!!!
I can imagine myself drinking a latte and stare into the distance.

Looks like a comfy balcony of a home

Hope I can go back there soon.

By the way, there's no tax charges for this cafe. The prices stated above are nett prices.
Well slightly expensive I must say, but it's Bangsar Lerrr......yeap BANGSAR LERR!!!!
Less than 30 bucks for both food and beverage and nice ambience, 偷笑liao lorr!!

Stuff your Face Cafe

4-09 Jalan Maarof,
Bukit Bandaraya,
59000 Kuala Lumpur

Let me whine, let me whine....
Haizzz speaking of lunch at my work place....
I actually enjoy my job and also very satisfied with the pay
But the drawback is.....Lunch is just too expensive over here!
So far I only dined out twice, once dabao and once at the food court.
Believe it or not, the "zap fan" (3 dishes) at the food court cost 9 bucks LOL
Kinda had a heart attack when I was at the cashier haha...
I know u will say 9 bucks is quite reasonable but imagine eating them everyday?
There's this Jason's Food Hall which is like the ATAS people's super market, they offer the cheapest food but still, it's considered as expensive for me. I can't afford to have them everyday.
So yea, I brought my own food everyday and sometimes I even forgot and skipped lunch.
Which is really not good coz I end up eating so much in the evening and have gastric problems.
Believe it or not, my belly is now 2 inch fatter due to this irregular meal times.
Really don't encourage people to do the same mistake as I did.
Must take breakfast and lunch and eat less in the evening.
Omg every time I try to wear my jeans I'll break a cold sweat coz it seems like I can't fit into them anymore. and True enough now my shorts are like tight fitting edi LOL

Haizzz....hope going back to NTU can help me to slim down (which I don't think is possible haha)

Extra: 6 2 10 Nasi Lemak & Grill at Aman Suria

This was after one of our movie nights on Friday, it was around 10pm already, and they are still opened. Hopped in and had our dinner like a boss, yes really a boss, coz we're the only table left at that hour. 包场arr!!!
The food here is actually quite good. Sorry didn't take individual photos for each main course.
Daph ordered their Spaghetti Bolognese RM15.90, Ting and Gav both ordered their signature Grilled Chicken with Brown Sauce RM15.90.
While I had a nice and creamy carbonara.

Spaghetti Carbonara -- RM17.90
compared to stuff your face one, this one has more of a mushroom soup type of sauce, The spaghetti was softer with milder flavors but the cheese on top adds extra aroma and taste to every bite.

yeng lerr!!! Only us arr!!

It's great to dine outdoors, even better when you have the whole place to yourself!

By the way, 6 2 10 is famous for it's Grilled chicken, grilled steak and Nasi Lemak
Price is quite reasonable, all our meals are below RM20 per pax. Portion is also quite generous. Will come back to try their Nasi Lemak!

Garage 51 @ Bandar Sunway

Let's talk coffee again!
It's been almost 3 weeks since I started working, well I don't hate my job, but it does get stressful. Glad that this bunch of friends Jio-ed me for a weekday night coffee talk. And finally get to indulge in this super famous coffee shop in Bandar Sunway, I'd seen their photos all over Instagram and they always appear on top-coffee-shop lists at several websites. And they are...

The unique and chic Garage 51 @ Bandar Sunway

Don't think the name is just a name, the shop is kinda like a hidden gem among the Car garages in Sunway. I was stupid enough to not check da location before heading out and it took us really long to find the place! The streets were all dark, no shops were opened, and then it felt like we won a treasure hunt when we spot the beautiful coffee shop with vibrant graffiti on the outside.

It was a weekday night, but the place was almost full! It looks abit like The Factory 30 at first sight, but with a different and stronger sense of identity since it has this garage themed setting, very "Yau Yeng" . And there I found the super cute oil-barrel-transformed chair which many people talked about.

The menu that looks like those car inspection report.

Yeucian and Gary both ordered their signature Mochatella. -- RM14.90
Coffee Ice cubes with Nutella and Fresh Milk
Stir till the frozen coffee melts and mingles with the chocolate and milk.
Sweet, aromatic and creamy.

Cappuccino -- RM8.90
I didn't feel like having something sweet that night, so the waiter recommended their Cappuccino.
Love it, Smooth milky taste with strong coffee aroma.
It's not bitter at all.

Creme Brulee -- RM9.90
Recommended by Yeucian
This is yummy!!! It's not too sweet, just the caramel on top that gives the right amount of sweetness. Once in my mouth, it starts to melt and all the strong creamy flavors starts bursting out.

We wanted to order their New York Cheesecake since the waiter was hard selling it haha
Turns out it must be really good, coz the moment we decided to try, it's sold out!
The waiter recommended the 2nd best cake, Strawberry Cheesecake -- RM9.90,(in the photo above) which wasn't really nice...They probably forgot to put sugar LOL

Coffee mates of the night:
Gary, Kuok Fung and Yeucian
These are my NTU uni mates, can't believe we actually meet up in our home country instead of our Pulau NTU in Singapore. Anyways this bunch of people are really funny, sometimes beh tahan them insulting me but it's just fun!! hehe

By the way, dress code of the day was NERD
The bell curve Gods

Another bell curve god beside me.

Love the ambience anyway, casual yet chic, great for chit-chat sessions with friends
The waiter was too super friendly.

The place closes around 11pm, went out and took photos like a boss heheh

Favorite shot of the day
Macam yes haha, thanks to the waiter who took our photos...

Will definitely visit this place again, love the environment and also the coffee.

Garage 51 by Coffee Societe
51, Jalan PJS 11/9,
Bandar Sunway.
Business hours: 11am-11pm
Wi-Fi : Available, Password is idontknow. *sweat*

Well the coffee shop closed at 11pm, 2 hours was in fact not enough for us! For some reason we just have so much to talk about. I have work the next day, but dun care larr....how often we could meet (in Malaysia LOL)?? Might as well enjoy our night the Malaysian way....

Teh Tarik session at Asia Cafe!

It was my first time there, and the place was so crowded and quite happening. Looks abit like Ming Tien @ Taman Megah actually. Beautiful lights, loads of food stalls, super sized LCD screen...
Well we continued chatting while sipping the mug-sized teh tarik. Thumbs up!

Was really really great to catch up with these people, though we'll see each other very often back in Singapore, but it's still great to meet up in KL especially it's during the hols!! I can feel everyone's holiday mood heheh...

Gosh 2 weeks left before I head back to the island....OMG i wanna cry :(
It's just too fast!!!
But life has to move on....
Anyways more food post coming up!!! I guess my holidays was a great one after all, filled with awesome food!!
